How To Remove the Anti-Glare Coating from a Dell U2312HM Monitor

WITH THE AG Pic REMOVED, LET THE PANEL COOL OFF COMPLETELY Earlier CLEANING.
Someone in another thread ruined their U2711(AG removed) by using cold distilled water when the monitor was hot and it caused micro fractures to appear in the panel, distorting the brandish. I accept cleaned my display many times using the same method but it was ever on a cool console, a habit I picked upward to avoid streaking/smudges due to rapid evaporation.

UPDATE (05-December-2013): Just want to check in and update that my screen is still 100% flaw free and working fine. It has gone from Jersey to Tucson to Phoenix and sits on an articulating mount so it gets moved effectually quite a bit. I practise non clean the screen with annihilation other than compressed air and a very soft microfiber cloth with warm h2o and another dry out one after, minimal pressure. I have cleaned it maybe 5-6 times total since the original modernistic.

It's actually a lot easier than I idea information technology would be. All that's left is to remove the metal servant bezel from around the panel which comes off easily by lightly prying the little pry-points up over their detents all around the housing.

Keep this intact and merely carefully flip the metal bezel up and lay it down above your panel on your workspace.

To remove the anti-glare coating, make sure the screen is facing up.

Place wet (not damp, not drenched, just wet) paper towels over the entire screen surface.

I used blue scott paper towels (available at all auto stores) because they hold quite a bit of liquid and are rather durable when wet. Yous desire to cover the entire screen surface with a couple layers of these wet paper towels. Leave them on for four-5 hours, making sure they are always moisture throughout. If they brainstorm to dry, but have a single soaked paper towel and lay information technology on height of the existing layers, allowing the water to diffuse downwards.

Afterward 4-5 hours, pull up a corner of the wet paper towels and using your nail or a blade, very carefully peel up on the AG blanket. Make sure you don't pare upward the polarizer! With that said, for someone who is overly sensitive to the AG coating, this modern is an absolute must for me to bask this console. My main display is currently a 120hz Asus VG236HE with a glossy screen and going from that to a window on the U2312HM was merely painful; It fabricated the "dingy" effect from the coating obvious, peculiarly with white/light colors.
